Raising Catholics on the KJV

When I was a child, the KJV was my family’s standard. Even though I like the NAB better, I have to admit that there are still certain passages that, when I recite them in my head, come from the KJV.

I think I’m getting over that, though.

But I have found one use for the KJV. It really helps when quoting scripture to a Protestant in support of the Catholic position. Many protestants use the KJV and nothing else, so seeing and hearing the Catholic Church defended from what they consider to be the “true” Bible, can help tremendously.
 
The New American Bible is available as a download for free at the USCCB web site, they also have a broadcast which reads the daily readings in English; not sure if other languages are available.

I also enjoy the KJV; if you have the time it is nice to see how other translations express things.
