It’s in the bible: ‘I will praise the Lord with outstretched arms.’

Also: in the Old Testament: Moses interceded for victory for the Israelites during a battle by keeping his arms upraised to God,

I see no harm in the prayer body language mentioned in the bible of: the Sign of the Cross, joined hands, kneeling, falling prostrate before the Lord, bowing to Our Lord, or praising the Lord with upstretched arms.
Saint Ignatius of Loyola wrote: No two people will pray the same way or the same type of prayer for we are all
different.

It has become a part of the Catholic Charismatic renewal praise hymns during hymn singing at catholic charismatic renewal prayer groups/ or before a mass being led by a Catholic Charismatic Renewal priest.

it’s a way of participating that makes people feel good.

I don’t like the hand-holding, for hygienic reasons.

I’ve been to Catholic Masses where the worshipers raise their hands in prayer!
Those Catholic Churches that I have been to that do that tend to be one’s that
are primarily attended by blacks! I’m not black but have enjoyed the Masses.

King David did a worship dance before the whole of Jerusalem to God in the Ark of the Covenant. 🙂
