MikeWM:
There is no need for these people to be dying.
I concur.
The global system is letting it happen.
Respectfully, this is nonsensical.
And the global system is capitalism.
Really? That’s a new one on me. So please explain to us how people starving in Ethiopia or Somalia is brought about by capitalism?

From where I sit, people are starving because they have no food. Many live in countries where there is plenty to eat, but for ethnic or political reasons they are denied access to the food they need to live. How does capitalism play a part in this?

Interesting that the first thing everyone seems to have thought of is starvation. I was actually thinking more of basic medical supplies… but ok, let’s talk about food.

The numerous times that we’ve seen starvation in Africa in the last 20 years because, say, a crop has failed. I guess that was their government’s fault that the rains didn’t come or the locusts had a good year

Interesting double standard here too. Apparently it’s the government’s responsiblility to look after the people. I don’t see that attitude being applied to the US government by people on the right on a regular basis. But I guess these people can’t be expected to look after themselves, whereas Americans should be able to?

And how is this related to the topic? Because humanity is more important than artificial borders and artificial economics.

Sorry you chose not to answer my questions.

Without borders and economics there usually is no freedom nor is there enough food to go around due to the lawlessness and lack of human dignity which is it’s byproduct.

This is another reason I am not surprised marxist partys are assisting in promoting marches for illegal immigrants.

Borders and economics may not be of ultimate importance, but they are real and one cannot violate the principle of subsidiarity without just cause.

Gotta take the bad groups with the good. I am hopeful that the conservatives arent fond of having such extremist right winger radicals as Pat Roberston and Jerry Falwell hanging out on the right…correct?

Where is that listed in the CCC?

During the discussion of expectations of dress, language in movies/music and other stuff my teenagers used to come back at me with, “Dad, it’s not that bad.” My reply was always, “What part of “bad” do you want to be associated with? How much bad should I, as your Father, be content with you being a part of.”
I am hopeful that the conservatives arent fond of having such extremist right winger radicals as Pat Roberston and Jerry Falwell hanging out on the right…correct?
Actually, I don’t recall either of those to people organizing a march to support illegal immigrants nor do I recall these men supporting the massacre at Tiannemen Square nor Milosivich. Also, I don’t recall these men being menbers of a political party that would, if allowed to take power, complete do away with freedom of the press, of religion or all personal freedoms.

Respectfully, comparing the World Worker’s Party to these 2 men is non-sensical, from where I sit.

To answer the question you asked: Robertson and Falwell have never influenced me nor my development as a conservative;) Speaking solely for myself they’ve never been relevant.

Then you are veering off your point. China isn’t communist at all. It’s authoritarian capitalist. Just because they call it communist for historical reasons doesn’t make it so.
I disagree with your description of the Chinese system. I think it’s more akin to national socialism.

But regarding ANSWER, they are in favor of the 60’s leftover version of communism and that is why they support illegal immigration. Illegal immigration protests work to injure the U.S. (the great ‘enemy’ of old-school communism) in two ways:
  1. It brings in a lot of poor, mistreated people. Ideal candidates to advance communism.
  2. Fear. Fear is a great tool to get your way! Borders pulled magazines out of fear of offending Muslims. France changed their youth job law out of fear of the masses. And here? Well, we saw plenty of senators cowtowing out of fear of the masses.
My two cents! 😉
