Can the Vatican accept Miguel Diaz as Ambassador from the U.S. ? If he is accepted, what would this mean in the light of the Church’s teaching that abortion is Intrinsically Evil at any time, any place? Does this mean the Church is caving in on its requirements that its ambassadors be Pro Life? After all Diaz has contributed money to the POTUS campaign and supported Sibelieus which to me indicates he doesn’t understand Catholic teachings and theology

Will the Church take a runner up such as Diaz, because the POTUS will be unable to find anyone in his party who is truly Pro Life from birth to natural death?

Your opinions and what you think will happen in light of what you understand to be the teachings of the Church regarding abortions.

Thanks.

P.S. For some reason the poll statement wasn’t completed. It was supposed to have said:

If the Vatican accepts Diaz as Ambassador from the U.S. will this be a sign of a weakening in the teachings and theology of the Church regarding the Intrinsic Evil of Abortion?

Sorry about that.

I don’t know enough about Diaz to vote. Is he pro-abortion or pro-life? 🤷

The ramifications I am asking about are those that may have an effect on the integrity Catholic Church as the one institution which has been adament in her statements which say a Catholic may not support a politician who supports abortion. What will cafeteria Catholics/Pro aborts. say if the Church lets its guard down even once and approves Diaz who is not 100% Pro Life?

At one time a great percentage of nations and people looked to the Catholic Church for direction in regard to moral issues. At one time, the U.S. was very much in line with Catholic Church thinking regarding Intrinsic Evil. This is no longer so. The Catholic Church no longer has the moral stature it once had for 56% of Catholics here in the U.S., nor for many other countries. Many non Catholics and even Catholics are asking, “What IS a Catholic”?

Since the past Presidential election, what was left of the Church’s moral integrity, from the viewpoint of the world, was diminished even more due to illiterate Catholics voting for bo.

If I haven’t made myself clear, ask away. I’ll get it straight yet. Thanks.

Hello, I am from Belarus, and we ask that because of the crisis, all of our sponsors abandoned us, and if we do not help, and I do not know what will happen to us. It is no secret that children’s homes, child homes, orphanages are in need of assistance. Our children have lost their love, care and warmth of their parents, like all other children want to feel the attention and love. If you are not indifferent to the issue of children’s homes, the plight of orphaned children and help them.
We are children from 0 to 3 years old, who are deprived of maternal custody in the near future to send them in an orphanage. Need: diapers; baby food (juice, puree); Books in a thick cardboard cover; plastic and wooden toys; Clothing, footwear; children’s beds.
We will be glad of any assistance.

Diaz voted for a pro-abortion politican, so he is pro-abortion.

I don’t know the ramifications, but I do know I am tired of Catholics claiming they can vote for pro-abortion politicans. The Bishops have spoken, let the faithful listen.

I most definitely agree with you. However, I understand he has been accepted by the Vatican. Pope Benedcit XVI is said to have signed off on his position Wednesday before it was announced. Is this logical? What has happened to absolute wrong and right? I fear for our Church and the world. I would rather have no envoy than one not 100% for the teachings of the Church.

I have read, as far as politics and the safety of the Vatican are an issue, the Vatican must be careful not to distance itself from any country. The Vatican has many enemies and many could gather together to destroy her. But do we as The Body of Christ believe safety to be more important than truth? I don’t understand.

I find we often assume many things, Miguel Diaz did work for the Obama campaign as a Catholic advisor. Assuming that 54% of American Catholics voted for Obama. We hence assume that Miguel Diaz also voted for Obama, after a cursery search of the Internet, I found nothing that says he “actually” voted for Obama. In Catholic News Service catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0902431.htm, I did find a very positive article on Mr. Diaz that emphasised his Pro-Life position.

I truly believe that God allows evil to happen for a Greater Good.

Why doesn’t the President stop being a jerk and pick an openly, pro-life ambassador to the Vatican? I mean this is like sending a bacon salesman to be ambassaor to Mecca.
