What could the police do? If you didnt know exactly where it came from, how would the police even know where to look?Hello, is one ordinarily obligated to phone in the sound of what one is pretty sure are gunshots in the distance to the police?
Also, some fireworks sound quite a bit like guns from the distance. What could the police do? If you didnt know exactly where it came from, how would the police even know where to look?
Around here, on certain holidays, like memorial day, July 4th, New years, etc, it is common to hear gunshots at night, Ive never heard of anyone calling police about it though, not even sure why they would in the first place. the firing of guns has been a fairly common practice on certain holidays going back to the countries founding!
^^^This. Plus, one of my neighbors has his own outdoor shooting range. Gunfire in the 'hood is a common occurrence around here, and it’s harmless. Living in the city is a different story. It depends on where you are. I live in a rural area. If I called the police every time I heard gunshots, I’d be on the phone with them an awful lot… many hunters, and also farmers shooting vermin on their properties.
