It’s sort of unnerving… vestments shouldn’t make a fashion statement. And yet once women are made priests, everything goes downhill from there:rolleyes:

What the heck? That looks like something the girl from Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead would design. Or maybe someone’s kid for a 3rd grade crafts class. It looks like a goofy sunset on that hat.

Please tell me this photo was taken at a Halloween party. :doh2: The dyed hair, the lipstick, the painted (most likely fake) fingernails, the jewelry…it all contradicts with the holy vestments. It’d be like seeing a guy in American soldier uniform weighing 500 pounds and sporting a big bushy beard, or a pope with a snake tattoo crawling up his cheek.
 
Somehow this reminds me of when I played house as a little kid with my sister. Now these people are “playing church.” 😦

I’ve read some stories of children back in the day of the early Church who decided to “play church,” as in perform the entire liturgy with some kids pretending to be the bishop and others pretending to be deacons. When it came time to bless the body and blood, what usually happened was lightning struck and knocked the kids out cold. 😃
 
They just look absolutely ridiculous! Yeah, like they’re little kids playing dress up, or a guy in drag. Maybe it’s because I’m a lifelong Catholic (and completely agree with the Church’s teaching about the all male priesthood), but it just looks “not right” :confused::eek:

While I’m against altering doctrine regarding the priesthood as well, even if those were all men, most of those pictures would still be ridiculous.
