I second David Currie’s book!!! I’m currently reading it, just starting in on the Epistles - Chapter 7. David Currie walks you though all the relevant passages in the bible that deal with the end times. You go though Daniel, Zechariah, the Olivet Discourses, the New Testament Epistles, and John’s Revelation. He also talks about first century history and what the early Church Fathers said. Not only was he raised with this belief but he taught it as well. He understands it very well and does an excellent job of refuting the rapture. Send her a copy and buy one for yourself as well!

My mother said many a prayer and shed many a tear over me. And I thank our Blessed Lord for hearing and answering her pleas.
I “reverted” and returned HOME back in 1996 and couldn’t be happier.

The rapture will take place before the tribulation that is for sure.
But if you don’t get a chance to live to see yourself fly like super man as you are being raptured , you will experience as a dead person.
All who believe in Christ and have a personal relationship with Christ till the end will all experience this promise to us , sons and daughters in Christ.

I think you are mistaking Jesus’ promise.
The wicked were taken during the flood and who was left behind? The righteous!
The wicked were taken at S&G and who was left behind? The righteous.
During Jesus triumphant 2nd coming, when he comes in Glory, the righteous will be taken up to meet him in the air - Yes!!! But… we greet our King and then turn around and travel with him into the New Jerusalem just like people did in ancient times when they greet their triumphant kings after their victories!!! This is exactly what the poeple of Jerusalem did when they greeted Jesus by laying palms along his path as he entereed Jerusalem just days before His passion.
And certainly wish to be left behind so I can enjoy this triumphant parade!!!

Anyways the victory to be taken was already won on the cross remember?
Jesus said "It is Finished " and He finished it all for us sons and daughters in Christ!
Are you trying to do the work of something Jesus didn’t finish yourself, and want to see for yourself the out come??
The rapture is to come to take us out of the temptation of the tribulation which we can’t bare, and so we don’t backslide into the hands of the anti Christ, and his powers and authoritys.

Please re-read my post. Those that are taken away are not the righteous (which is part of that 180 year old tradition of men called the Rapture). They are the wicked.
Just as the wicked were taken away in Genesis during the flood.
Just as the wicked were taken away at S&G in Genesis.
Those that are left behind in the field are the righteous, just as Noah and his family were left behind. Just as Lot and his family, sans wife, were left behind.
Knowing this, why would I not want to be left behind?
Jesus’ triumphant return comes in the last days bringing the New Jerusalem with Him. I’d love to be taken up with Him and return with Him to earth.
By the way, when Jesus said, “It is finished”, he wasn’t referring to our Salvation. That part is not finished, for my salvation required my participation in the New Covenant. Just because I proclaim Jesus as my Lord and Savior (which I do) does not guarantee a one-way ticket to heaven. I must be obedient, as Jesus says.

Christ never ever promised us we would be spared sufferings, on the contrary suffering is holy in the eyes of the Lord. Did Christ not suffer for us, how is it then that we would not want to suffer for Him? And your supposition about the words of our Lord when he said “It is finished” is wrong. When I was in junior high school and high school my best friend and I were all wrapped up in Hal Lindsey, Jack Van Empty (excuse me, Van Impe
) and many other of the Dispensational teachers of Revelation. Through a long series of events, I moved away from that teaching, even while I was still Protestant, and moved to the Pre-millenial/A-Millineal interpretation of Revelation. Not to confuse you, but one thing that the Dispensationalists fail to see is the context in which Revelation was written. Revelation was a book of prophecy, but it was written to the churches of the 1st century as a book of encouragement. It was written to them about things that would soon come to pass. It was written in symbols. But if you look at the OTprohpets, and the Jewish culture, all the symbols would have been understood by the early Christian Church. To say that John saw locust as helicopters and nuclear explosions is pushing heretical. The book of Revelation was never viewed this way by the early Church. As a matter of fact, it was the end of the world…The world as they new it. The new world was coming in and has come in the New Covenant of Christ. That is what Revelation is describing. This is a perfect example of the end result of the Sola Scriptura doctrine!!
I would recommend reading The Lamb’s Supper by Scott Hahn. He does an excellent job of teaching this.
In addition it is very hard for Dispensationalists to hear the truth because what they believe is exciting, fun, almost as though they are living in a Sci-Fi /Horror movie. My wife and I decided that there is no way that we would let our girls have any part of this. They don’t need to be scared of our Lord and His return. When I was about 7-8 years old, I was taken to a Bible School and shown the movie “A Distant Thunder”. The last scene was a guillotine dropping over the head of the ones who had received the “mark of the beast”. For years and years I was scared to death. I would never want my children or anyone I know to live with that fear…

I agree whole heartedly with you. I have never agreed with teaching children or anyone else to be afraid of our Lord. We must always trust in Him, He is all about love. My friend has not allowed her children to become involved in the church he is going to. I pray she has the courage to stand her ground on this. And my greatest hope is that through all of this she is lead straight back to the church, God does work in ways like this, of this I am positive. I find it astonishiing that people who claim to know the Bible, usually know nothing of it’s purpose, of it’s history. Of course the early church Christians would have known exactly what the Prophecy’s were about, so funny that so many people live there lives in the here and now, and relate everything to it. On the inside of the front cover of my Bible it reads “For ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ” Thank you for sharing your story, it shows me that this all can be overcome, Thank you for your prayers.
