Does anybody here believe we are currently in those times?
🤷
If the entire history of the world is one week then I feel we are in the weekend but not sure what the time is.

Love has grown cold.
Oh I think society is even worse than that… Look at Isaiah 6:9-13
I do like the Catholic position on this. Whether we are one week away or 1,000 years away, we need to be be prepared at all times, if not for ā€œTHEā€ end times then certainly for our own end time.
The best answer of all.

So, I’m sure most of you know who Harold Camping was. Lot of press in 2011, predicted rapture first in May and then October of that year.

What you may not know is that he wrote a book called 1994. I can’t say I fell hook, line and sinker but I was very open to him possibly being right. I read the book in 93, it was an obscure series of calculations that i really didn’t thing had anything to do with each other but as I say I was ā€œcaught upā€ so to speak.

Anyway, dwelling on this stuff does mess with your brain. What do I need to do before September '94 just in case, etc. 14 months away, 10 months away, 2 months away, etc. That date was etched in my mind. Now I never made any major decisions based on this but it was always rattling around in there. But on his radio program he would dissuade people from say starting college because why bother.

To me it was like entering a dark world, like living in a Jack Chick comic if that makes sense. On the positive side, what I did do was find Catholic Answers and listen to tapes which helped frame my mind better and that is when I realized I should just be ready in general instead of being ready for a time period.

Since then, I’ve lost friends and family as their personal ends came (Mr Camping’s end came with no rapture attached as every rapturist before him). Just a sober reminder that this life has a expiration date for all so it makes sense ā€œbe vigilantā€ but not ā€œcaught upā€.

Hope this helps somebody.

Repeat because it’s just that good:

Here’s a lovely letter to those who were drawn into Camping’s hope and belief. It is possible to be passionate and sincere and yet be sincerely wrong. However, the Rapture and other such strange teachings aren’t strange enough to separate their believers from the household of faith.

Please forgive the double post.

I recently finished writing up Left Behind #7 for spoilers and am working on some discussion topics and study guide questions.

Things like Rapture, a Millennial Kingdom on earth, and the nature of end-times Tribulation will of course prompt debates. But this particular volume proposes that Satan can resurrect the dead. I was always taught that he couldn’t, but the authors disagree.

One can understand why getting Raptured out of a world like that would be a really good thing.

Please forgive the triple post. šŸ˜‰

I’ve finished my write-up of ā€œLeft Behindā€ #7 (ā€œThe indwellingā€) for discussion and study.

Believing in the Rapture is relevant to those who expect to fly. Believing in what comes after is important if a flyer wants to know (warn) about what happens to those ā€œleft behind.ā€
In #7 I had to tackle the difference between prophecy and pastoral care, plus of course all that ā€œcan Satan raise the deadā€ spin. Because of the subject matter, reader discretion is advised.

Can somebody please explain the rapture to me and what does it mean?
I actually read every book of the ā€œLeft behind seriesā€ by Tim LaHaye. Not saying I agree with all written. But still waiting for a good comment.
