Is it a sin to watch a rated R movie that is a horror flick. I love the saw movies they are exciting and they can be pretty gory. Also if you know there’s going to be nudity that’s out right? What about violence?

Bill,

Please talk to your priest. These movies are grave matter.
Ok but I want no misunderstanding about what I said when exciting. I don’t get a thrill about doing this kind of stuff. The unexpected is where the thrill comes in.

Watching the “Saw” movies is grave matter? :rotfl:
It’s probably a grave matter of bad taste in movies. I have no clue who wants to watch that shock-value junk. There are much better things out there if you are looking for a scary movie. Look for a psychological thriller that makes you think rather than a movie that overworked their poor makeup artists.

Also keep in mind that there is a WIDE range of R-rated movies. I don’t even really trust the rating system to get anything right anymore. If I remember right, Passion of the Christ was R-rated. There is certainly a big difference between that movie and a Saw movie.

I don’t trust most anyone regarding ratings.

Peace,
Ed
There’s supposedly a great documentary on Netflix about the absurdly irrational and inconsistent ratings given by the MPAA.
