RC marrying a baptist annulment needed?

Hey, have a RC marrying a Baptist guy that was married before. The guy had a civil divorse 5 yrs ago.

So can the RC get married in the RCC without any trouble? Or does the Baptist need to get an annulment.

Yes he will and their wil be issues as to “if” he plans on converting to be a Catholic. If not they will want it in writing that you both agree to raise any children Catholic.

the Catholic Church considers all marriages to be valid until proven otherwise, so the Baptist party will have to submit his case to the Tribunal of the diocese in which he resides, or in which he was married, for a judgment on whether or not his first marriage was valid and he is free to marry. The Catholic party should not get romantically involved, certainly not engaged or married civilly, until it is established both parties are free to marry. they should also go through marriage preparation to understand the theology of marriage, the reasons for these laws, and deal with the inevitable conflicts in an inter-faith marriage.

The marriage of the Baptist will have to be examined by the tribunal to determine all the circumstances and whether or not the Baptist party is free to marry.

If the Baptist is declared free to marry, and plans to remain Baptist, then the Catholic will need to apply for a dispensation to marry a non-Catholic.

First step: make an appointment with a priest to discuss the entire situation.

Only the Catholic is required to make such a promise. The non-Catholic only acknowledges that they were informed of the promise.

Actually, it would be a priest, not the bishop, that this person would see to get premarital counseling and start any process of examining the first marriage.
