I’m ready!
Having gone through the RCIA process these past eight months not only changed me a great deal, it made me reflect on my limited and interrupted (catechesis interruptus?) Catholic education back in the seventies, right before my parents divorced. A bizarre sort of nostalgia and reminiscing about relatives I haven’t seen and experiences regarding the church I haven’t thought about in nearly thirty years. Yet I feel so much better for having undertaken this journey and though I may be receiving the remainder of the Sacraments 21 years after I initially should have, I truly believe that I can appreciate the whole process as an adult, though part of me laments the fact that I didn’t grow up with all those years of Catholic school and it’s just something I’ll deal with. Regardless, His truth has become known to me and for that I am thankful.
I’ll be thinking of you guys and gals during Easter Vigil.
