Just wanting to say Congrats to all those who are coming home this Easter!

:clapping: :tiphat: :dancing:

Only eight days until Easter vigil! The wait is nearly over! 😃

AAAH! The wait is so excruciatingly long that it’s painful! 😃

Wait till you get to Saturday. I had such a time that day waiting!!! Only thing that got me through was being able to watch Easter Vigil from the Vatican on EWTN. I never knew that they actually had Catecumans (sorry about the spelling ) come at Easter Vigil there. Can you imagine how that would be?🙂 :highprayer:

Thank you Joamy! We were given our white robes the other night, and our RCIA director asked me for my confirmation name yesterday so that they can print the cards! I’m SO excited I don’t know what to do with myself! Congrats to everyone!

White Robes? That is so neat.

I am so excited too. I got in two good confessions, I’m squeaky clean, and so ready to really be Catholic.

Congratulations to everyone!

Well, I guess it would be called an Alb, since we will wear the rope ties with them. On the front, there is a beautiful embroidered Baptism symbol. I tried it on and almost had tears in my eyes! Next Saturday can’t get here fast enough!

How many of the RCIA 08 class are going to attend Holy Thursday & Good Friday services? When our RCIA director (who is a Sister) told us about them I knew that I had to go! On Good Friday, we’re having the Venerations of the Cross & Communion service, then later that night we will have a Live Stations of the Cross, I can’t wait to see that! Plus, Sister told us that at the Communion service, that will be the LAST time that we have to go up with our arms crossed! 😃

I’m definitely going to Holy Thursday and Good Friday services. What a treat!

I’m also taking Thursday and Friday off work just so I don’t keel over from all the preparations this week. I really should have joined the Catholic church as a younger woman…

😛

Congrats to the Elect!!!
You will not forget this - and it is very exciting, kinda like that moment when you hit the top of the roller coaster and it starts it way down!!! YAAAAHHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!😃 👍

🙂 :angel1:

You’ll be floating by Sunday morning. I can promise you that this is one exercise that will leave you feeling no pain.🙂

Thanks so much!!!

My husband has decided not to choose a baptismal name (his name is Jason Christopher already), but I’ve gone with Mary for Magdalene, and probably Grace for Confirmation, to remind myself that I am to be God’s Grace to the world.

🙂

Our RICA class will be at our parish most of the day Saturday. Starting with prayer in the morning. Then, they are locking the church and giving us our own little retreat for a few hours. I am looking forward to Saturday, and going a little nuts waiting for it to get here too. 🙂

that sounds cool!! – It will be long day but it will all come together in the end. Make sure you take some marshmellows for the bonfire…(oh wait - maybe not tonight!🙂 )
Have fun, enjoy, keep your eyes, ears and heart open!!!1:thumbsup: [SIGN]GO GOD![/SIGN]

I am new to the Forums but in the RCIA class of 2008!!! I’m very ready for Easter Vigil and so excited and so truly overwhelmed by the wonder and awe I feel right now. I can not imagine how I will feel on Saturday!

God bless to all others in RCIA 2008!

Sincerely,
Christina 🙂

I just came from Good Friday Service and it was so intense and I know tomorow will be too. I’m exhausted. It won’t be long now, though. A little over 24 hours to go for us and it will be beautiful, I know it will. I was reeading the hymnals and thinking about the hymns we sang at the churches I used to go to, thinking aout unity and how much all Christians have in common, when in my mind I saw the people in th other churches singing and felt the difference and knew I could never turn back now. What a swim, folks!

It’s today, everyone! Wow… 🙂 My class will be meeting at 9 this morning for our first confessions, then back at the church tonight for the Easter Vigil.

I’m nervous, trying to prepare for the confession, and still don’t know what I should wear tonight!

God bless all of you! Know that you have “forum friends” from all over the world who will praying specifically for YOU as men and women (and a child or two 😉 ) enter the Church during this evening’s Masses at our home parishes. As for me, I shall remember you, pray for graces and blessings and the knowledge that you have come home to a loving (albeit occasionally slightly dysfunctional) family, at St. Mary’s in Alexandria, Virginia.

Tenebrae was amazing last night. My heart still feels heavy from the emotional outpouring that took place there. My chest constricts every time I think about what’s going to happen tonight in just a mere 11 hours. I cry at the thought, and I can’t even imagine what it’s going to feel like when it’s here…
