I found a Parish that had RCIA classes that started the first sunday after Labor Day. I am not able to attend until well…until I get a car. Now, I don’t know what to do. Will I have to wait till next time the classes start to convert? Or is there another way? **

I agree that you should talk to the RCIA director. They might know of someone that lives close to you or can allow you to jump in at a later time. I hope things work out for you.

I’ve been a Catechist in the RCIA for 13 years. The RCIA process is a beautiful journey to God the Father throught Christ Jesus in Unity with the Holy Spirit. In the process, the richness of the Catholic Church is made manifest. We, the Catechist’s not only bring the Catechumen to Christ but are ourselves blessed as we witness Jesus working in them as He draws them to Himself. God Bless us everyone.

I was recently confirmed and it was not a pleasant experience. Our RCIA is very disorganized, our leader isn’t particularly well informed (although she is a cradle Catholic). In our parish one who has been baptized in another faith can be confirmed at any time (not just during the Easter Vigil) so I chose my date, had NO instruction on what to expect or what to do. My Protestant family accompanied me to Mass and, thank the Lord, we saw the priest before the service because he had forgotten! I was very embarrassed and disappointed. Something that had been a very big decision for me, not to mention a long time coming, turned out to be a haphazard, last-minute affair. It was an important, special time for me, but evidently not the priest. In the end it had little meaning for me. I am still stinging and more than a little disappointed.
