I would like to find out about starting RCIA. Do I just contact the priest at my local church and ask him about it? Also do all churches run the RCIA?

Yes, contact the priest at the church closest to you, they will be able to help you.

I have be doing our parish’s RCIA for years. Yes, the first step is to contact the priest. Most programs begin in September but a few of the larger parish’s run a year-round program. I hope everything works out for you.

Many traditional parishes run one on one classes; just you and the priest. Our FSSP parish is one of those.

Contact them! I’m in WA, my parish does RCIA once per year beginning in fall. Some parishes do it more frequently. I’m baptised Catholic but am taking the class to ensure I missed nothing. You won’t regret it.

Thank you for your answers. I contacted my local parish today and will be going to meet the priest just after Christmas to see about starting the RCIA. Thank you again 🙂

Ours begins in September, but we can take late applicants under certain special circumstances, so contact the priest, and find out for sure! 🙂

I converted to RC from Orthodoxy 7 years ago. Some Priests said we had to do RCIA and some said we didn’t have to. We converted in a Parish that required it and I’m glad we did. It was a wonderful experience.

Yes it is!

I’m a convert as well and I must say that I learned so much about the Church through RCIA. I’m actually considering going next year as a sponsor so I can expand my knowledge.
