TheExorcist,

You might contact your local parish and set an appointment up to talk with the RCIA director and explain your situation. At the very least, you could get the title of the books used in RCIA.
This is a good idea. I just had an instance this week that reminded me how much I truly do NOT know or understand. I was listening to an EWTN show this week (Threshold of Hope maybe) and the topic of the Immaculate Conception came up. I never knew that the conception referred to in that doctrine/dogma is the conception of MARY by ST ANNE! I always thought that referred to the conception of JESUS by MARY! Wow!

So even though someone may be emotionally and spiritually ready to come into the church there may be a knowledge gap there to fill.

A common mistake. Immaculate - Incarnatation.

I agree with your comment about the knowledge gap. The Catholic faith is very deep and complex. Easily accepted by some, yet difficult to understand for others. RCIA classes are populated by people who may be at different stages in their faith journey. I considered myslef Catholic very early in my conversion process, but the RCIA process gave me time to learn and better appreciate Catholicism. I’m still learning. And still enjoying it.
