Has your Parish made any plans for offering RCIA this year? I know we’re “looking at ideas” but I was hoping someone might have some plans already. In the past, we met weekly after morning Mass. I guess we could always meet in person, wear masks, and sit 6 feet apart.

That is what will happen here, but 4pm on Sunday. Big tables with space between. Messes things up for me because I will not attend mass at all.
Mass at 8am and 1030. Going to mass, then home, then back again while taking care of animals AND part time caregiver for someone does not leave enough time.
Dominus vobiscum

Yes, we start session next week with 10 or 12 confirmed if I remeber. Not really changing much from previous years other than social distancing, masking, and no refreshments.

I finished last year and we finished (after a period of confusion and planning) by Zoom meeting. It has been announced that this year it will be by Zoom meeting from the beginning.

I start RCIA tonight. First two are in person, the rest are on Zoom. So excited!! I am finally going to be Catholic. Yay!!!

Yay for you! Make sure you take time to enjoy the journey - and welcome home.

From what I can tell, there isn’t any RCIA this year (they maybe have one class of an individual or two every 2-5 years).

CCD is currently on hold. The parish can’t find a director and it sounds like they’re revamping the system.

They potentially could, but because we have 26 (and counting) candidates and catechumen we have space issues in the area where they could eat and drink (food and drink is not allowed in the classroom).

The main fellowship hall is currently used as expansion to live stream mass from the sanctuary so that we can get extra people. Added to the fact that we can only have maybe 25% occupancy in any of our classrooms and we simply don’t have the space. The one time we tried doing anything similar to a fellowship with food for a smaller group, the pastor got a nasty anonymous letter from someone threatening to report the parish to the health department. Although we were in compliance with health regulations he did not want to deal with the potential of shutting down the parish for mass.

I think our priest is like, super immunocompromised or somethingthing, so ours is super secret probation masks and everything.
