RCIA - how long is the process?

She joined last fall and had her first confession during lent. Her leader keeps talking about when her time comes and she can receive when she’s ready. Sorry I don’t understand too much about this process.

Your sister can receive when she is ready. There seems to be some kind of conversation between her and the leader, so that would be up to both of them. And to her confessor, since she is going to confession.

When she is ready, the pastor can receive permission to give her the sacraments. He should arrange for confirmation before first Communion, but he might want her to wait until the bishop comes for confirmation.
