I got in touch with the secretary. I asked her about the meeting with Father, and she said that it probably would be better to wait until the Sister in charge of the RCIA comes back, after the RCIA starts, and that I shouldn’t worry about it.
I don’t think the parish I go to is going to be bureaucratic about the RCIA (only three people have signed up for the RCIA, me, and two others.)
Don’t feel afraid contacting them! I went through RCIA 2 years ago, and in the midst of RCIA process there was an emergency work project which put me in an incredibly funky work schedule and had me travelling back-and-forth in-and-out of the country. I missed a couple RCIA sessions per month for awhile, and I would just pester the Deacon about what we learned so that I could stay on top of the curve. While I was worried it might mean that I wouldn’t be prepared for Easter, it really caused no problem whatsoever. They like to see new Catholics and will most likely work with you through whatever conflicts may arise.

That is good to hear. I think it is a good sign both that you are trying so hard to comply with what is being asked of you and also that the parish is doing what they can to alleviate your fears. That is a good combination.
