RCIA - Scrutinies

I am in RCIA now. I am super excited about Easter Vigil! We are about to begin the Scrutinies. We’ll have 3 of them. Do you know how long they last? Is the Mass longer?

They take place within Mass. It may extend the Mass by a couple of minutes. Actually, what may make the Mass longer is that the readings used for the Scrutinies are long, but very rich.

I went through this last year, it is beautiful, meaningful and uplifting. The entire church prays for YOU! How awesome is that? Relax, enjoy and hear the special blessing and prayers. I was the only candidate. So it really dis not add time. But I suppose each Parish could be different.

As a former [retired] RCIA teacher;

the length of the Mass will depend on the Priest offering it; the lenght of the homily and the number of Candidates involved.

This IS an exciting time; PRAY nery much especially the Rosary

I’m curious as well I’m going to going through this Rite as well.
