Well that’s the way it is supposed to work -
I left a team because one team member was telling catachumens that he believed soon there would be women priests and that he prayed for it daily.
Another I overheard telling someone that birth control was not a sin.
I heard another telling a woman that she would not have to get an annulment even though she was married to her third husband because it was just a matter of conscience.
Then there are those wonderful sponsors who do not have to have any background check on what they believe and they tell the catachumens all sorts of misinformation - like you don’t have to accept everything the Church teaches.
I can’t speak to all RCIA teams but I have heard as many tales like the ones I experienced from others.
In fact I know of one friend of mine who was never told it was a sin not to go to Mass on Sunday.
I don’t know what the answser is but I know RCIA does not always produced well formed Catholics.
