I encourage all of you coming into the Church to get involved in as many things as you can next week. If there is a Rosary, Prayers Session, Daily Mass, Tenebrae, etc. the more you do the more you will be brought closer to God throughout the week.

Thanks so much. The closer we get, the more thankful I become for the sacrifice our Lord gave for us. I am planning to squeeze in as many events as I can.
PS Something new…
a fellow parishoner taught me how to make a palm cross with my palm after mass today! I will keep it in my bible to remember how special this time is, marking the beginnig of my first Holy Week. 🙂
 
Mass was BEAUTIFUL today! My heart is so full of joy! Today, as the archbishop walked around the church sprinkling the church with Holy Water, a big drop landed on my face 😃 Thank you Lord. It was nice to hear some old familiar hymns today like:
-When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
-Were You There

Thanks to everyone for their prayers. Although I’m nervous about Saturday (don’t like being in front of crowds) I’m very sure that I belong in the Catholic church. I feel at peace. 😊 next stop: Chrism Mass 👍
 
Tomorrow the big day! All of us RCIA members will finally enter the church! The long and thoughtful process in over tomorrow! Congratulations to everyone! Thank you everyone here who asks and answers question! It’s all helped greatly! Prayers be with you all!
 
We have three Candidates being received tomorrow night. They are so excited for their First Reconciliation tomorrow morning. 🙂
 
Praying for all who will be welcomed fully into communion with the Church tomorrow night… 🙂
 
We have a family and their triplet daughters joining us this Easter. They are all going to be baptized!

In our little parish (700) families we have quite a few coming home this Easter.

Worked in my Catholic bookstore today, we were supposed to close at noon but at 2:30 I was still there.

Last minute RCIA, baptism, sponsor gifts.

We will be open all day tomorrow. Yikes. It’s great, seeing all the new Catholics and people so excited about the faith. 👍
 
No more sitting in the back and getting dirty looks for not going up to getcommunion. All the folks that gave us the dirty looks will see the reason why we didn’t go out for communion and it’s not because we sin repeatedly!!! LOL 😃

That’s terrible! LOL, as far as I’m aware no one ever gave me dirty looks. 😛 Anyway, I’m excited for tonight.

yea just a few though, they’re much older and i live in a small town where everyone around here are cradel catholics so for someone like me to show up out of no where they’re giving me the look like how many times do i sin that i am not going up for communion? lol. Although on Good Friday people are now aware who i am and no more looks :).
 
well, even if you commit just one (mortal) sin, you shouldn’t receive communion.

I just got back from rehearsal for vigil… It should be absolutely beautiful. There will be the lighting of the fire outside. Then processing to the exultet sung by one of the priests carrying the pascal candle leading the way with the alterboys (12) and us following all with our candles symbolizing the light of Christ coming into the World. There will be about 22 of us tonight. About one half are going to be baptized. The rest of us are non catholic candidates. (But we will all be coming out of vigil this evening as 100% catholics!)

Ps On the subject of curiousness about not taking communion. I think that those sitting around me have gotten so used to me not going forward, they will be alarmed when I start approaching the Host like everyone else for a change!!😛

Again all the best to everyone and I see this not as an end, but as an exciting and blessed new beginnig. 😃 Only God’s grace can accomplish something like this. I am so thankful.

Haha… that’s a shame that you are getting looks. My humble advice: they shouldn’t worry about you, and you shouldn’t worry about them! There are many reasons why somebody wouldn’t receive…and it’s none of anybody’s business!

Prayers for you and everybody else coming home to the Catholic Church tonight!
 
Seven coming into our parish tonight and my Fiance is one of them! 😃

My parents are coming tonight too and it will be the second time we bring the baby to church. She was an angel on Thursday and I’m praying for a repeat performance tonight. She’ll get to watch Daddy received into the church! We are so excited!

I will be praying for everyone entering the Church tonight. My husband is getting confirmed, so it’s a great day for our family as well.

I will be entering the Church tonight at Easter Vigil, and I am so excited.
 
To all the soon to be new Catholics. God Bless all of you and Welcome Home! I hope that all of you in RCIA will have a blessed Easter Vigil and a memorable night. I also hope that you will strongly consider sticking the classes out through the Mystagogy period.

Being Catholic is AWESOME beyond words. Truly, there are no words.
