Re-emerging demon

Remember, a demon’s will is far more powerful than our own wills. When a person feels physical contact from a demon, it is totally an act of the demon’s will.

One can forget about conventional physics when discussing the spiritual realm. Laws regarding matter and energy do not apply.
I did add to my post. Sorry. I don’t always use the ‘preview’ option as much as I could. So yes, I added to my post (#46) as I think it is probably an answer to this above post.

“Relief for the patient is always possible, but to completely rid a person of his demons can take many exorcisms over many years. For a demon to leave a body and go back to hell means to die forever and to lose any ability to molest people in the future. He expresses his desperation saying: ‘I am dying, I am dying. You are killing me; you have won. All priests are murderers’.”

I agree that it is likely that brain activation occurring in the communication happening between demon and the human is via the demon’s will. Yet, somewhere between the functioning of the brain and the fallen angel, there is a meeting / a connection.

The demon attacks the psyche and no doubt this brain activity can produce the effects which the demon wishes the human to experience. But we cannot just deny that electrical impulses are the point of connection, because we don’t fully understand the supernatural, just as we don’t know the relational difference and connection between the supernatural (which is beyond metaphysics, even), and physics.

Off-topic, I’ve often said that exorcisms ought to be considered at an earlier stage, instead of people with spiritual difficulties being sent too quickly to secular psychologists, and look here (from the last posted link):

“They say we cannot perform an exorcism unless we know for certain that the Evil One is present. That is ridiculous. It is only through exorcism that the demons reveal themselves. An unnecessary exorcism never hurt anybody.”’

FriarD - Good research.

It seems that you found contradictory statements from exorcists. Fr. Amorth saying that demons can no longer molest people after an exorcism and Fr Euteneuer implies that they can come back.

I suspect that both are correct. The spiritual world is vast and complex. Some demons probably are not able to come back and others are able.

St. Thomas tells us that each angel and demon are so dissimilar that each is like an individual species. Due to their vast number and all being so different than the others, it seems like generalizations about demons are bound to have exceptions.

Thank you. It took long enough to find. I suspect this might have been mentioned in more than just this article, as Fr. Amorth was interviewed a lot, by the looks of things. The Catholic Answers radio show also mentioned the word “definitively”. But in the same radio show, some of the same demons are mentioned as appearing throughout history (it also mentions that time doesn’t figure in the same way, which is what we’d been talking about, that you’d asserted), and I imagine that the demon linked to, at the beginning of this thread, is one of them.

(friard :D)

It might be that. I suspect so. Lower rank ones lose whatever it is they lose, but stronger ones are able to keep making a nuisance of themselves.

However, I think evidence allows me room to hold to my notion that the same demon would not be able to reappear in the same person, after an exorcism.

That’s incredible to read. Didn’t know that.

Angels apparently project their concepts into whatever creature they require their knowledge to be related.

Satan is one. I imagine he has been exorcised from person to person, over the centuries. I take issue with “exceptions”! Everything has meaning and a reason for being. 🙂

It would be interesting to try and decipher how it is this happens without a time-line.

Also, it is possible that demons roam the earth in the sense of projecting themselves here, in the minds of humans, from Hell. One exorcist mentioned, that demons “take their Hell with them”, but this is very much earthly language. You mentioned demons maybe falling further into Hell. This could be likely as it could be explained without using the word ‘movement’ as we understand it.

I always thought that in terms of good visions, the vision is in relation to the will of the person, or wills of the people, experiencing the vision, as opposed to Heaven relating themselves to believers within this dimension i.e:- the veil lifted slightly, that separates this existence from Heaven, while those in Heaven communicate from there - from within the soul of the person who sees the vision, as if in front of them, in time and space. And so, if this is the case, which I deduce it is, then it could be that demons actually are in Hell already, but simply project themselves into people’s psyches. This would also explain demonic dreams, as in, the soul walks through Hell, when the dream is demonic.
