I’m curious. What is done if a child is allergic to wheat and cannot receive the Eucharist in that form? Are there alternatives?

The child will not receive a host. The child can receive from the Cup only.
 
Apparently one priest in New Jersey in an attempt to satisfy the political desire a mother (who seems to be using her little girl as a liberalistic propaganda ploy) believes that Christ’s body, soul and divinity is present in a rice cookie.
