Hi, I’m a new member here, I’m from Indonesia.
My Father is a Buddhist, because both of my mother and father are Chinese Descent, and my mother was a Chinese Religion believer. She told me she converted on High School because she saw her friends went to the church. So after she converted to Catholic, she almost went to Sunday Mass. But I don’t know, suddenly when my mom gave birth to my sister, she turned to be a Lapsed Catholic. My sister, my brother and me weren’t raised Catholic and reaaaaally Liberal. Basically, she almost never took us to the Church, (My mother until now still never took me to Confession, but I had my confession with my classmate). So my sister and brother were really not religious. They (My Brother and Sister and Mother) almost never pray, they don’t practice Catholic, they don’t pray rosary, and they don’t go to church.
I was like that too, until I enrolled at Junior High School. I entered a Catholic Primary School, so I never experienced any discrimination about my religion and faith, and I almost never attend mass too. But when I enrolled at Private School, which has many Muslim students, I changed. Because one of my best friend is Muslim, He always promoted his religion to me, and underestimating my faith. Most of Muslim underestimate Catholic faith. They think that Islam is the best religion on Earth etc. So I started to search about Catholicism, to gave a revenge to my bestfriend. Then I felt like Holy Spirit was with me
, then suddenly I become a good Catholic until now 
. Then this year I asked my mother to go to Church. But she said
“I’m an Adult. I know what’s the best for me, I know more than you.”. So I was having an argument with my mother. But at the end she said “Let’s go to a Mass this sunday.” But It was only that Sunday. This year I only attended Mass about 5 times. On Easter, Good Friday, and about 3 sunday masses.
My sister even worse too, She said to me stop talking about Catholicism to her, and when I told her about the new pope, She replied to me “He’s just a pope. What’s so special about him ?”. And my brother doesn’t want to attend mass too.
I don’t need my father to convert, But if he wants to convert, I hope it’s his own decision .
So what should I do to make my mother, sister, and brother goes to mass again, and back to church and practicing Catholic ?
It’s such a shame that my Catholic (Most of Catholic in Indonesia are Chinese, Except some provinces in Indonesia where Catholic is embraced by majority of native people such as Nusa Tenggara Timur Province) friends always go to Church every sunday with their Parents and family, but I rarely attend mass. I know I’m not a great Catholic, I don’t know how to pray rosary because my mother doesn’t taught me to, and I don’t pray before I eat, but at least I pray before I sleep

and remember that it’s not your job to convert people. I’m in a similar boat and that is what I found to be helpful.
