RE: Luke 11: 27-28

In fact, Jesus Christ is Praising His Mother 70x7X more than this woman in the Crowd can ever do, how so, well, because no one ever created by the Hands of God “heard the Word of God and keeps it” More than Mary His Mother, I tell you no one, not you, not me, or any of the Apostles nor any of the Prophets, has ever heard the Word of God and Kept the word like Mary, as far as the East is from the West no one has, but Mary! All Praise be to You my Queen Mother Mary.

Others in the New Testament who have praised Mary, like this woman in the crowd and Jesus, are St. Gabriel, Elizabeth, the infant John, who leapt for Joy, mind you JOY in her womb. Also, the Holy Spirit Himself Praises Mary, because it was the Holy Spirit, in Elizabeth who opened her voice to Praise Mary Amen.

So when you hear someone say a Hail Mary prayer don’t be offended, Join in the Prayer.

When you hear someone praise Mary like theses above, don’t be scandalized, look at those in the Bible who have praised Her and take fellowship with these in saying praises to Mary every day of your lives.

Mary filled with the Holy Spirit, who spoke the Magnificant that all generations will call me blessed. If you only remember Her only at Christmas, then you are luke warm in regards to Heeding Mary’s request that we shall call her blessed in fact it was not Mary’s request that we should call Her Blessed, it was the Holy Spirit’s Request that we shall call Her Blessed. Surely you don’t want to deny the Holy Spirit do you?

So if you call yourself a True Christian you must Praise Mary Daily, any less you are luke warm and if you are scarred to do so shame on you. Leap for Joy as did John, for Her saying YES to have Our Savior and for Who She IS, your Mother my Mother Amen.

Jesus Christ, new that no one would ever hear and keep the Word of God better than Mary His Mother, Why? Because She Carried the Word of God Literally in Her Body. And no can out do His praises for His Mother Mary, I tell you no one especially that woman in the crowd, nor you nor or me no one. Amen

Honor thy Father and thy Mother, for this is a Commandment of God, is not only for this life time, but in Heaven as well.

This is a good point to make actually! Jesus says “Yea rather” not “Nay rather.” It sounds like he is agreeing with the woman who shouted out, and clarifying the statement, building upon it…describing the truly blessed. That’s what it sounds like to me!

For example: “Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb…” (Deut 28:4), and Christ uses such an expression later in the gospel, referring to the future with: “For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’” (Luke 23:29). In any case, it was more of a glorification of who Christ was than who owned the womb itself.

In regards to the use of “yea rather” or “nay rather” in Christ’s response, let’s first look at some comparative translations of Luke 11:28:

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” [NIV]

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” [NLT]

But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” [ESV]

Now let’s look at the original Greek:

The Greek word μενοῦν means “on the contrary,” as the NASB translates. In other words, Christ is not affirming what the woman said before, but rather portraying another idea entirely. He is not confirming what she said, but rather what He was about to say, which was: “blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Yes, in this particular case the Greek shows that Christ was correcting their emphasis on the womb that bore him and instead focused them on their own actions.

You are not dealing with the words used. Christ is correcting them like I personally believe He would correct your misunderstanding of this matter.

Christ is not saying we should bless His mother highly, but rather that those who are blessed are those who do the word of God and follow it. That is, linguistically and grammatically, what is going on here.

Now in regards to the praise Elizabeth, I didn’t respond to it at first because this woman wasn’t Elizabeth and that was something that had happened in a different circumstance, but I’ll respond to it here now.

And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” [Luke 1:41-42; ESV]

Was Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit? Yes. Did she say to Mary, “Blessed are you among women?” Yes. Did she say, “Blessed is the fruit of your womb?” Yes. Yet that was where the blessing came from - because of the fruit of her womb. She was blessed among women because it was her who was chosen to bear the Incarnate Word, as I said earlier. In Greek she is known as Theotokos, or “God-bearer” - but you can’t be Theotokos with the Theos part. Her praise was not given to her isolated from Christ in her womb, but because of Christ in her womb. This is how the praise is directed, because the “fruit of her womb” is Word made flesh.

The woman in the crowd, on the other hand, simply knows Christ as a godly man and perhaps the savior of her people, and that is where her praise stems from. Whereas Elizabeth was speaking directly to Mary, the woman is referring indirectly to Mary. Elizabeth knows who the mother of Christ is, but the woman only knows who Christ is. And again, Christ redirects the praise not to the womb that bore Him or the breast that fed Him, but those who do His word.

This couldn’y be farther from the truth. God-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, had ordained His plan of salvation before time began. Mary was always included in this plan(Gen 3). God the Son, through whom everything was created, created Mary for the purpose of being His mother and bearing Him into the world.

Two, the Church places Mary no higher than that which Christ has already placed her. The Bible is clear that those who are glorified with Christ will rule with Him crowned with the glory of God(Rev 12). You should praise God for the Church’s revealtion of Mary’s Assumption, because in her Assumption lies the fulfillment of God’s promise for all who are faithful.

I don’t deny any of those - when I use the word “chose” I of course refer to it from an exhaustive foreknowledge and intended purpose.

As for Mary’s role, she was again a faithful woman, and while I’m sure she will be glorified with the apostles and others, she will be just as glorified as them or any other believer. Again, refer to this verse which the OP is discussing: those who do the word of God. That is speaking about believers in general, not Mary specifically.
