PBS had a program tonight on about the Jewish experience in America and their profound influence on American culture (this program centered on Iriving Berlin).

Is is just my imagination…? There are threads on every other non-Catholic religion but none about our elder Jewish brothers and sisters. These are their high holy days from Rosh Hashana (sp) to Yom Kippur. So, to our elder brothers and sisters I say: May the Lord grant you all the blessings of these holy days and may we all be united in a Happy Jerusalem!

I would have thought that at least someone would have posted. Think about it my friends. …Where are our elder brothers and sisters? Jewish activity on any of our threads is so limitied. Yet, I can assure you, if you have ever attended a “seder supper” , the roots of our Eucharist jump out an slap you in the face. I guess I’m being somewhat maudlin. It is the Jewish High Holy Days - Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The equivalent is Holy Week for us. I really feel for all of the Jewish folk of New Orleans…I can’t speak for them but they have walked with us from the begining. May the Lord God of Hosts extend his protection upon our elder brothers and sisters. And next year, may we all meet in a happy Jerusalem.

If you’re asking for a Jewish subforum here, I think its a good idea.
