If one is purchased, once it is received, does it need to be blessed by a priest before it is to be used?

I believe the prayers said on an unblessed rosary are perfectly “valid”. They go up to Heaven, as any prayer does. But I think it is best (and certainly customary) to have a new rosary blessed by your priest… as soon as possible.

I agree.One of the fondest memories from my childhood is the first Rosary I bought.I sold newspapers on a street corner and used the money to purchase a Rosary(about $2.00).I took it to the Rectory of St.Ann’s,rang the door bell and asked Father to Bless my new Rosary,which He did.I was 11years old.Thanks for reminding me.
