The Youcat format has a link to actual CCC for anyone who wants to read in detail. But if you have a hard copy of CCC handy and if you systematically read it daily, then you won’t need any online reading.

I put off reading the catechism for 18 years. Then I resolved to read it, about four pages a day.

Well it’s a whole lot easier to read than I thought, and I leisurely finished reading it in around a month.

Mind you, I live alone and I’m not “wild” about watching tv.

Just a reminder that the Catholic Bible has 73 books rather than 66 so it could take just a little longer but is worth it!

To reinforce the Original Poster, his recommended site is a good one. The link started off being a link primarily for daily CCC postings, beginning from the very start and with the goal of reading the entire CCC in a year.

For reasons not clear, the link recommended by the OP segwayed into YouCat postings.
However . . . it does still give you the ability to conduct daily CCC readings.

From what I could tell I think it was copyright issues…whoever held the copyright (the U.S.Conference of Catholics, according to USCCB.org) for the English of the CCC didn’t appreciate the actions of Mr. Warner (the sender of the daily catechism readings)…and so, for reasons unclear, Ignatius Press (holder of the copyright for the English translation of YOUCAT) allowed Mr. Warner to send out segments of the YOUCAT in the e-mails instead…and so, he has been doing that for some time. However, he is able to include links in his e-mails to the actual CCC texts from which the YOUCAT segments were based.

At least, that’s what I understood from a couple e-mails Mr. Warner sent out soon before this change was made

My diocese is very blessed; we have a small fee Catechism for adults class, where we have an amazing and learned speaker. It’s for this “Year of Faith”, and it’s quite popular. If you get the chance to take the course, please do. It takes just over a year to do it, one hour a week, and we took the summer off. It doesn’t hit every line of the Catechism of course, but it covers a lot of it, and helps you to educate yourself about the rest.
