My father once said, “What makes you think that you know more than a church that has been around for 2000 years?”
I don’t know. I guess it’s because I have been given a brain. And as with the gold coins, unless we challenge those things in life that are being followed because we are told to do so, I will then be in bigger trouble for not speaking up.
“Lord, I was just doing what all the people in the church said to do.”
“And why didn’t you use the brain I gave you? What do you think I gave it to you for? To counter balance your feet? If everyone jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge does that mean you’d do it too?”
To think is to invite debate. Debate invites upsetment. Those we disagree with become objects of arrogance.
