Reading List...who?

The question arises from the plethora of voices on the news over the past few days. From an relative outsiders view, I would like to get your advice on who to read (listen) and who to avoid? Richard McBrien? William Donoghue?, Andy Rooney? Magazines of authority: America? Which websites? Is Notre Dame orthodox? etc. etc.

The cacophany of voices is confusing!!!
