Greetings all.
During our weekend Masses, we invite our Parishioners to add people to our intention book that we should pray for during Mass. These names are then read during the Intercessory Prayers of the Faithful.
Here is the problem…
One of our Parishioners is a part of SNAP (Survivors’ Network of those Abused by Priests). He adds names to the intention book. The names he adds are notorious for bashing our Diocesan Priests and working to defame the Catholic Church in the media. Is it appropriate to read names of those who work to send the wrong message about the Catholic Church during Mass? I, as a Lector, find it quite embarrassing to read these names during Mass when the people listed have a known reputation in our Diocese of being out of line in Church teaching.
Thank you for your responses.
