My girlfriend and I like to read the Gospel of the day together and reflect on it together. I recently bought a New Testament copy of the New Testament in one of my favorite translations. I also got a New Testament Bible written one Greek recently as well as I read Greek.

My question is, how would you recommend reading though the New Testament together and taking notes? I’ve personally read through each of the four Gospels and taken notes on them so while we could do that together, I’d like to do something a bit more new. Any suggestions on what to read or perhaps what type of note taking (sticky notes and highlights in the Bible or a separate notebook or something) is most effective for you?

Thanks,
🐬

Not sure if it is the kind of reading that you are looking for, but I like Lectio Divina. It allows the Word to sink in better than by taking notes for me, and when you are two or more, you get to hear insights you wouldn’t have had on your own.

Yeah I agree with the above. Lectio Divina is a good way to get it to sink in. Check out the videos on YouTube they help understand the process.

I’ve been doing very similar, reading through the Gospels. Il be switching back to whichever readings are required as part of Exodus90 from Monday though.

I really like Lectio Divina, I’ve done it multiple times and I agree it’s very powerful!

Understanding what we read better I suppose, like being able to go back and read our notes

Wow you are blessed, not only does my wife not do this with me but when I started reading the bible with my children my wife told them they don’t have to read it if they don’t want to and haven’t since.

My wife and I read a lot of the NT together… and didn’t take notes… and for us it was Good.
