First of all I apologize in advance if this subject has been covered before. I have, on occasion, attended the E.F. daily Mass in my area. I was wondering if there is a web site that has the readings of the day for the E.F. so I can prepare for Mass? I know there are Missals available but they are quite expensive. Thanks for any help.

Missals for the EF are abundantly available on eBay, some quite cheaply. That really is the best way to go when new to the EF.

There are no weekday readings for the EF the way there are for the EF, other than during Lent. There are more saints’ days in the EF kalendar, so more often than not, the readings and other propers are for that Mass. When it is not a saint’s day, the priest will sometimes celebrate a votive Mass. If he is wearing the same green vestments that he wore on the previous Sunday, then he is celebrating the Sunday Mass again, but without Gloria or creed.

There is an app for the IPad called Laudate that has the complete prayers for the LM/EF every day also the readings for the OF every day that is an audio. Did I mention that itg is free?

Pre-VII one didn’t need the daily masses. 99% of the time it was a memorial mass for the Dead. 😉

One of the greatest improvements was the change to using the mass of the day for these memorials. 👍
