  1. I like Real Catholic TV and believe that it should continue to be verbose.
  2. I like Real Catholic TV and believe that it should not continue to be verbose.
  3. I do not like Real Catholic TV and believe it should continue to be verbose.
  4. I do not like Real Catholic TV and believe that it should not continue to be verbose.
  5. Not sure.
Explain if you don’t mind.

I like it but have mixed feelings about the methods used. This is NOT a promotion by any means. I have good reasons to ask considering that I’ve found many schimatic and illicit groups on the internet before and was directed to only read the Vatican or USCCB only. Judging by the controversies brought up in recent years I am skeptical about only reading those sites considering some of the ilicit promotion of groups that support abortion and same sex marriage, etc.

I goofed up the survey somehow. so anyway if you would kick this around with me I’d appreciate it. Hope this is the correct place for this.

You will NEVER find ANYTHING on RealCatholicTV that is not 100% in line with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We are not schismatic, we are not liberal, we are not illicit. So regardless of what someone may or may not feel about our style, the content is above reproach.

I’m not really clear on the purpose of your poll. What do you think you are going to accomplish?

Note: This is NOT a slam on Real Catholic TV. I like it but have mixed feelings about their method of delivering the message.

My reasons for having mixed feelings about it is that I agree with much if not all that has been said, but there is such a sin a **detraction **too, not just calamity is a sin. So as a returning Catholic I’m sifting through the quagmire of refuse. Detraction is a sin. I’m not sure how the collection of bishops who make up the USCCB as well as the Vatican see this program.

Clarifying for myself how to properly view Real Catholic TV as revert trying to be faithful to the Majisterium.

You should view RealCatholicTV as an excellent source for information about news in the Church, as well as a great way to learn apologetics and history of the Church through the Premium content on the site. There are hundreds of hours of classes, lectures, retreats, shows, etc. in the Premium section.

On our staff we have reverts, converts, and cradle Catholics - all in love with the Faith and dedicated to spreading the Fullness of Truth in the Catholic Church.

If you ever have any questions please feel free to call the studio directly, you will probably speak with my husband, Simon, and he will be happy to discuss any concerns you might have regarding content.

I didn’t know Real Catholic TV was considered excessively verbose (wordy)? All I’ve seen are the video news clips and a few other sources. Verbose didn’t really apply. The President and virtually all politicians, on the other hand.

It’s a no. 1 for me. Although I live in Ireland I look forward to the emails linking Michael Voris’ videos. They may be targeted at an American audience but they sure hit the spot. Good and thought provoking.

As for the delivery, didn’t Our Lord go into the temple and turn over the tables of the money changers? Believe it or not but some would say what he did wasn’t a very Christian thing to do! Sometimes we need straight talking to make us sit up and take notice.

If I ever meet Michael I’ll say, “Keep it up”.👍

I never used the word “excessively”. Get it right next time. A good
alternate for that word would be “out spoken”.

1 : containing more words than necessary : wordy ; also : impaired by wordiness
2 : given to wordiness

So I guess my using of the word “excessively” is a bit like saying something is “very” very expensive. It still doesn’t change your characterization of their show. I have heard many criticisms of them, but never verbose (wordy).

And I got it right. You do not know what “verbose” means. It does not mean outspoken.

Shouldn’t you make this a poll?

strange poll questions from someone whose namesake is the honey-tongued one.

poll and explanatory paragraph do not seem to compute or even relate, am I missing something?

congratulation all of you have successfully offended me when all I was seeking was (name removed by moderator)ut in the form of a survey, which didn’t work. Therefore all you have really done is shown your true colors. Lacking charity is equal to sin. I actually like the daug gone show, you bunch of uncharitable Catholics. This is partly why so many Protestants HATE us so much. What 's wrong with you?

You should also mention what happened to him as well, like standing up for truth in spite of the common heretic path most bishops were on during his time. He was excommunicated and/or exiled because he stood up for truth.

Judging by the uncharitable response by the many of you I’d say I can relate to him now.

Reworded post:
Congratulation:rolleyes: all of you have successfully offended me when all I was seeking was (name removed by moderator)ut in the form of a survey, which I openly admited up front had you actually read what I posted. Therefore all you have really done is show your true colors. Lacking charity is equal to sinning. I actually like the daug gone show, you bunch of uncharitable Catholics. This is partly why so many Protestants HATE us so much. What 's wrong with you? So many of you have chosen to be so hateful. Why?🤷

I did not start a debate thread but rather was asking for a response to my questions, not your criticisms. I have my purpose and it has nothing to do with you or anyone else on here. It has to do with whether or not this show is endorsed by any bishops or even clergy in good standing with the Church. I sincerely want to know because it can have quite the negative impact on people’s life if it turns out that it’s not acceptable, though I like the show. I would have talked about this point later, but did NOT want to lead or influence anyone into responding just to make me happy, angry, sad or whatever. My education included preparing surveys and though it’s not rocket science I messed it up by mistake or not thinking long enough to put it in the best wording. I threw this one together based on my feeling or perception of the show…to darn long story to get into and why I didn’t elaborate too much.

So PLEASE be charitable next time I post and stop trying to shame or embarrass a practicing Catholic family man as if that’s okay. :tsktsk: Sinful behavior begets sinful punishment.:gopray2: Yes, I firmly believe that those who assert rude behavior will reap what they sew, so be it purgatory if that is all it is, but why would you purposefully choose to sin even if its “only a small one”?

Whether or not you like my choice of words, you could have charitably offered a better word and I would have jumped on the band wagon to say a big Texas “Thanks, I need that.” Ironically, someone told me many years ago “you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar”. I was trying to be objective without giving the obvious direction I lean towards. I like the show.

Let me guess, you don’t have very many friends do you?😉

Have you looked at the Shepherd’s Voice section on the very front of the site, it takes up a large portion of the home page, you can’t miss it on the right hand side. I assure you that these priests and Bishops were not tied down and forced to tape statements for us - they did so because they support and believe in what we are doing.

You can see even more if you look on the left side of the site under Programs and click on Shepherd’s Voice there as well.

So if these are not good enough for you I’m not sure what would be. I hope you enjoy your time on the site! 🙂

I’m sorry if you felt beat up by some of the posters here - we really are generally a pretty friendly bunch.

Thank you Liza, but when I click on your link it takes me to a completely different website.

BTW: I am substribed to emails and that’s how I konw. I signed up for this early on when I first came back to the Church after being a fundamentalist for so long. This is why I am so interested in gathering more information. My father would be thrilled to see me back in the Church. He just didn’t have the faculties to explain anything correctly to me and said all kinds of crazy things in his latter days. He was a traditional Catholic and raised me as such. That’s how the transition to the church of Christ was so easy for me in part. I grew up bible on under mom’s roof and dad wasn’t practicing his faith when I first moved with him so I didn’t receive communion until I was almost 15 years old. Didn’t even understand confirmation at that point until they told me i needed it to enter the seminary…so a day or two of training and then voila, it was over and done. Later I ran into exactly what your program said in the seminary during that time…there were a lot of homosexuals allowed to enter and with some it seemed to be encouraged. I know stories of rape and other things. I was one of the abused. My spiritual director was grooming me and I was too naive to realize it. Had someone been watching out for our best interest I doubt it would have ever occurred. I did not engage in any of the activity but rather turned in those that preyed up on us…that’s how I was swept under the carpet. I still believe I had a real vocation but that experience caused me to stumble by the way the bishop handled it. Long story. When I first came back I nearly bit off the head of our pastor that asked my son if he ever thought of a vocation to the priesthood. I was still raging even though I knew finally I had no choice but to return realizing in deed that the Catholic Church is in fact the one true Church founded by Christ. Originally I wanted to become Orthodox and still lean in that direction…eastern Catholic now.
