Football is a good thing to watch and should be watched and talked about at the appropriate venue. Sports bars, family home cutting up with the guys and when placing a friendly bet. But in NO WAY!! Is it to be a mockery of prayer to God in a Church establishment. Especially the Catholic Church! Getting on ones knees dressed in animal attire or as I saw on another post on CF a deacon who was on the alter during the consecration of the Eucharist with a dogs head on!! This is what Jesus was talking about by IDOLTRY!!! To PAGAN!!! gods not the almighty God. In Ephesians 5:1-5 Paul says So be imitators of God, as beloved children. In chapter 5 he says be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, and idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God.
What he is saying in chapter 1 he is talking to pagans not to Christian’s for why would he have to win Christian’s over to Christ they already believe.
But he is telling the pagans not to be immoral, impure or greedy, that is and idolater, has any place in inheritance of Christ and of God.
So by anyone doing these kinds of Acts in public are especially in worship is and idolter. They need to be taught how sacred our worship is it is no fun and games this is the real presence of Christ and it should not be made a mockery of.
Another Sacramental began to Grace the church’s rituals… And the persons of the clergy… When vestments became popular in the 4th century. The alb ( Latin alba,“white”) was the basic everyday garment, similar to a tunic: white for festivals and dark color for everyday use. Clergy wore a long tunic. The amice ( a scarf around the neck), the cincture ( a belt ), the maniple ( a handkerchief or napkin ), the chasuble ( a kind of coat ). Today, providers usually wear only an alb and chasuble, or a combination, along with a stole. The stole, a symbol of authority, was borrowed from the Roman Civil Life.
Colors: the 12 century had standard colors throughout the church in the post-Tridentine period. They remain a tradition today with little change. Purple is used during Advent, lint and special penitential days such as Rogation days and Ember day’s. White is the color of Easter season, Christmas season, feast of Our Lord and Mary, non-martyred Saints, and special solemnities outside these times. Red is used for Pentecost, Good Friday, and feast of Martyrs. Green, the color of Hope in life, is used in ordinary time. Until this generation, black was the color for funerals and red (symbolic of Jesus will be needs to death and, therefore, prototype of all martyrs) for Good Friday.
