Why do Catholics believe in the Real Presence when Jesus said do this in rememberence of me?
Why do so many protestants equate remembrance with symbolic only? Why do Catholics believe in the Real Presence when Jesus said do this in rememberence of me?
Because he also said his flesh is real food, and his blood is real drink. And that if we don’t eat his flesh, we will not have life. Why do Catholics believe in the Real Presence when Jesus said do this in rememberence of me?
I think if you re-read John 6 you would see that Jesus didn’t mean symbolically, other wise he wouldn’t have let those who found the teaching hard go without clearing it all up.Why do Catholics believe in the Real Presence when Jesus said do this in remembrance of me?
What aboutBecause he also said his flesh is real food, and his blood is real drink. And that if we don’t eat his flesh, we will not have life.
Why do you think the two points (real presence, memory of Jesus) are mutually exclusive?
Can you spell that out for me please? I don’t understand the connection you’re trying to make. What about
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
I think Paul here is talking about justice and charity, and the nature of the kingdom of God. The verse is out of context and doesn’t relate to what Jesus was saying in John 6, the Bread of Life discourse. It has no bearing on Jesus’ words. What about
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Because Jesus he is the Bread of Life and St. Paul also this specifically in 1 Corinthians 11:27.Why do Catholics believe in the Real Presence when Jesus said do this in rememberence of me?
Don’t see any contradictions there? Can you spell that out for me please? I don’t understand the connection you’re trying to make.
Thanks!
So Paul contradicts Jesus?Don’t see any contradictions there?

Tell him that John, the Apostle is a wacko too according to his premise. Because Ignatius was taught by St. John.Manny, just last week I was discussing this with one of our Protestant friends, and he told me the early church fathers like St. Ignatius can’t be trusted because “what if they were wacko?”![]()
I don’t. I don’t think Roman 14:17 addresses Real Presence. This letter was addressed to Romans.Don’t see any contradictions there?
