Real Presence

From Today’s(Feb 7) Reading from Kings:

"Can it indeed be that God dwells on earth?

If the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain you, how much less this temple which I have built! "

Solomon recognizes that the massive Temple they have built can not contain the Lord. Yet a few minutes after that reading I HELD our Lord and Savior in the Palm of my hand. What Solomon’s temple could not accommodate we, as Catholics, can hold and consume any time we want. I know there have been times I have taken the “Real Presence” for granted. This morning was just another reminder of how blessed we are as Catholics.

The more that I reflect on the Eucharist the more I realize just how perfect it is.

God with us.
Jesus broken for us.
Given to us invidually but makes us each one in Him.

Someone mentioned to me recently that there are 4 stages in a friendship (and I don’t have the exact names of the stages correct)

1. Formal
2. Friendliness
3. Friendship
4. Intimacy

The Eucharist is intimacy, physical and spiritual.
The Real Presence is a Real Present!
