6,316 people die every day the large majority of these people are going to Hell or purgatory

so 3,000 people are being sent to torture every hour of every day if that’s not reality busting I don’t know what is !

I’m not going to debate whether or not the vast majority of people end up in Hell or purgatory (how is purgatory a bad thing anyway?), but how many of those 3,000 are infants? Or people who had no chance to know or hear about Christ?

I think Padre Pio said that snow coming down in his local town was about the same amount of people going to Hell

We have no idea how many are going to Hell. And going to Purgatory means you’re eventually going to Heaven – not exactly a bad thing.

I’ll take random numbers for $1,000, Alex… 🙂

How many people going to hell is too many? Anything over 0 is too many.

Who are we responsible for? Ourselves.

So, we need to work towards our own salvation, and also work for those around us— our friends, our family— whether it’s through actual words, or just the way we incorporate the ideals of Christian agape love into our lives and our interactions with those around us.

But at the same time, it’s also good to remember to pray for those who are dying, that God will give them the graces they need the most— and to pray for the people who are furthest from God. Even if you never meet them in this life, make a little offering to God on their behalf, and trust him to take care of the rest. 💙

The reality of life has me too sorrowful for the last three weeks not I just can’t deal with the reality

Are working at the turnstile on the highway to hell?

That’s a pretty big assertion you’ve made here.

To be clear, I’m not rejecting it outright, however why on Earth are you putting Hell and Purgatory in the same category? True, Purgatory is probably full of intense suffering, but the people there are there happily. For starters, if you’re in purgatory then your salvation is assured, 100%. You ARE saved. No more questioning, no more worrying, no more oscillation, just you getting closer and closer to God. Purgatory is also embraced by the souls there, because it is through purgatory that we are purified of our desire to sin, and fully align our will with God’s. As much as it is a place of suffering, it’s far more a place of great rejoicing and joy.

As for the number going to Hell, all we can know is that Jesus warned it’s difficult to make it to Heaven. Beyond that, we cannot say. There are certainly a number of private revelations that support your position, and it’s one I personally, sadly, agree with, but it’s not an official reaching of the Church.

Be at peace, go to confession frequently, receive the Eucharist regularly. Focus on your own salvation and leave the rest to God.

The fruits of the Holy Spirit:
love, joy , peace , patience , kindness , goodness , faithfulness , gentleness , and self -control.

I was going to mass daily and praying for one and half hour daily and reading all day about God but I just can’t accept the reality of all these people going to hell there has to be another way !

The answer in short is that I have become so desperately sad that I just can’t see the point.

Example it’s like seeing thousands of people get tortured and saving 100 your still going to feel like a failure !

So then I hear you saying that you choose to dwell in sadness.

Yes, but for those 100— you made all the difference. 💙

None of us are able to do good outside of God. If you’ve ever tried to help someone who was determined to separate themselves from what’s right or what’s moral, you know firsthand how difficult it is. We realize that we can help people with a situation, but in order for them to actually correct their lives, it requires their cooperation with God’s grace.

Whether it’s drugs, or alcohol abuse, or gang violence, or sex crimes, or the results from being raised in a dysfunctional family, or whatever— I’m not going to cure them of their problems, no matter how hard I try. I can’t magically fix them, because it’s something deeper that they have to work out with God.

So, instead of trying to focus on the physical externals, I try to focus on the spiritual interior. It won’t necessarily be a straight and easy road for anyone, but I trust that the God who works in secret will do what he can for that person’s salvation, because I know he wants it even more than I do.

I’m not choosing to dwell in anything!

It’s not a choice

A man that experiences trauma does not choose to be traumatized

A child getting knocked down does not choose to feel pain

There is no choice when you are surrounded by suffering and pain unless you are some sort of lunatic who has no human empathy

The rate of deaths per hour checks out. How one can claim a rate of people going to a place none here nor anyone living as we know it has actually been is bit of a mystery.

You seem to be a “glass half empty” kind of guy.

Is God not a God of mercy as well as justice? Do you think it is a good spiritual way to live in Gods love to only focus on the justice side?

I’m really curious as to your seeming fixation on the fear side of of your faith rather than the hope?

The good news is that there is another way:

Christ died so we may have hope. We don’t know how many of the departed are choosing to reject God in the end, but the good news is we don’t have to worry about. We just have to love them and show them Jesus. That’s all we were asked to do.

I’d also want to ease your mind about Purgatory - it’s an inconcievable grace of God for all of us to finish our sanctification, even after death. It’s a beautiful dogma (doctrine? sorry!) and although it’s reported to be uncomfortable, I imagine there is an unquenchable joy for those there in the knowledge that Heaven is their future.

I know what it is like to be consumed with sorrow and have the world look so bleak and pointless. Cling to Christ like nothing else! These times will pass. Always!

Edit to add: Even the saints had these periods of “despair”. The Bible is chock full of prayers of hopelessness and desperation. It’s okay to have those feelings. But it’s also VITAL to remember that God alone is our hope.

Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Jesus gave it to us precisely to convert sinners, especially in the hour of death.
