“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

*What was old is new again… *
Hmmm…at lightening speed our society is being inundated with this very same exact ploy in more areas than just culture…political as well. The war seems to be heightening to a fever pitch.:gopray2:

One year olds really don’t have a frame of reference for “normal” as they’re still figuring out what the world outside their crib is, so how could she look confused about her father’s male companion? Maybe she was confused by the presence of the camera crew: “Hey, who are these people and what are those weird things they’re pointing at me?”

In all fairness, I’d blame those people who senselessly murder and attack gays too. There are homosexuals in the entertainment industry, probably just as well represented in powerful positions there as they are in any other.

I wouldn’t be surprised that the zealousness with which gays are mistreated (and I’m not simply talking about condemning the sin itself, but inhumane treatment that no one, gay or straight, deserves) is the zealousness with which gays answer back using the power they have.

Amen to that: I often have to bite my hand to keep from firing back angry replies to some things said on this board which should not have been said (but there again, that’s what the Report button is for: if someone is getting out of line and being uncharitable to anyone).

Well, I wasn’t necessarily talking about this board (even though every message board has its share of “trolls”). I just meant life (and history) in general. But thanks for sharing the report button reminder. Actually, I wasn’t much aware of it myself until you mentioned it, truthfully.

I usually just try to ignore hateful speech, but maybe the button will come in handy sooner or later.

Oops, I see what you mean there. :: Laughs at self:: Don’t you just wish sometimes that there was a Report button for life outside the Internet, when you find yourself dealing with trolls? :: laughs::

So, a child, who would most likely be jumbled through orphanages, now has two loving people, and this board complains. This type of hate is one of the reasons that I no longer adhere to an organized religion. You think that one-year-old child looked confused about her parents? Please, if she were able to reason the whole situation, I’m sure she’d be extremely grateful that two people are giving her a home.

Some of the other posters have pointed out that the homosexual agenda is being made ‘trendy.’ Young people are insecure enough as is without these predators sinking their claws into them.
This is highly offensive. Catholics are supposed to be so loving. My gay friends have shown so much more kindness and love to me than most of the posters on this forum show for one another.

I think I might have more use for a “stop” button, or at least a “pause” one. Or “mute”. That might actually be amusing now that I think about it, hehe.

I’m minded of an episode of “Law & Order” a couple seasons back (okay, yes, fictional example, but the scenario is likely to happen). One partner in a gay couple was gunned down while taking their adopted toddler son for a walk in the park; the killers turned out to be the child’s completely morally bankrupt (drug addicts and they’d been in and out of prison for theft among other things) biological parents who had had their child taken away because they were failing to take good care of him. My mother went into a tizzy over this episode, but my response was, “Which is better: for a child to be taken care of by a couple who can care for him lovingly, or a couple who can’t even take care of themselves?”

This child was not adopted out of an orphange or even foster care. As I understand it the child was ‘created’ from donated eggs and sperm and ‘incubated’ by a surrogate.

If all gay parents, saingle parents, too rich to be pregnant parent all adopted their children from foster care, I’d be a bit more sympathetic. But usually, they bypass that route to have an IVF/surrogate child instead. (Or, in the new hollywood, adopt a child away from his biological parents in a third world country.)

I think most of us would probably agree that two gay men raising a kid together is preferable to that kid being raised by drug addicts or abusive parents, or living in an orphanage, but it certainly can’t be called ideal. I know gay people who have raised children successfully and the kids turned out okay. All of the gay parents I know are very good parents. It’s not the norm, though, and it’s actually quite cruel to bring a child into the world and purposely deprive them of the right to have a mother and a father. I feel exactly the same way about single mothers who decide to get pregnant on their own via the sperm bank or in vitro.

And where is all the promotion for the homosexual lifestyle coming from, anyways? Every homosexual person is a beautiful child of God just as every straight person is, and has the right to be free from unjust discrimination, but as a minority group gays are probably around 2% of the population, depending on what study you look at. So where does the massive homosexual PR blitz come from?

There was a really disturbing program on TV this morning which I think I saw on either Discover or TLC (and btw, I LOVE Man v. Wild, Mythbusters, and Dirty Jobs—all those sorts of shows).

I was surfing and happened to run across what I believe is their show on expectant Moms and the new baby in their lives—only this time it was two MEN.

And they were ‘snuggling’ on the couch with these broad grins and saying that when ‘their’ daughter (a poor, confused-looking little thing of about a year) goes to the park, she sees how the other kids are, and then starts calling these men ‘Mommy.’

That just broke my heart.

Soo this time Heather has two Daddies. But a one-year-old has more sense than they do!

You have to wonder about the rebellious spirit so clearly evident in people like this and the TV shows that embrace them. It’s like saying, “I don’t need your stupid RULES. I can cut my head off and still live!”
Political correctness, pseudoscience, money, greed, lies, hatred, fear, and other factors are how the gay movement is moving ahead. Unfortunately, they can’t touch God, and He is the One who controls all things. They can touch the Church, true, but they can’t corrupt her, thanks to God of course. In a world of darkness, the Church is God’s way of keeping the beacon of light shining, so that those who dwell in darkness may come back to Him. But as another poster said, this requires prayer and penance on our part, as His adopted sons.

None of which, even if true, makes it right.

I think you may be mistaken in assuming that the child was confused because of her two fathers, for it seems unrealistic that she would be able to pick up on the difference at her age.

But i do agree that it is wrong for a same-sex couple to have a child created, especially when the orphanages are so full these days. Although i do understand that adoption is totally unfair to the person adopting when it comes with all these “if the real parent changes his/her mind…” rules. I’m sorry, but if you give up your kid even for a minute then you’re unfit to be a parent to that child.

But back on topic, i have noticed an extremely noticeable placement of homosexual characters in various tv shows…
It seems that every show now has at least one or two gay characters, who are always portrayed as amazing, powerful, kind, and completely good in all ways. (alright, maybe an exception or two from that).

Ironic you should bring up Goebbles and the Nazis. They were rapidly anti-homosexual and engaged in a hate campaign to dehumanize and punish gays. Indeed, many were imprisoned and/or executed. They were certainly shunned and discriminated against at the very least. And while I’m not even remotely suggesting that any here would advocate the extreme measures of jail/death for gays, I do get the idea that some folks in this country (if not on CAF) would have no problem with exclusion, discrimination, and perhaps even forced mental treatment. So when you talk about a return the old tactics of spewing hate, and intolerance toward gays, you couldn’t be more correct (though I realize that this isn’t exactly what you meant - thus the irony).
