Don’t agree. Keep in mind this is 2000 years ago, it’s not like he could have sent out a mass email. Also keep in mind James was writing like 20 years after the Church was already established. The Elders would have already been taught by word of mouth. It is highly unlikely anything new would be presented in a written letter. There would be no way of knowing if it was real or a fake if it was presented as something new that no one ever heard before.James is writing to the …leaders or Elders of the church…in teaching them…giving directions, instructions on the Spoken Word
I would say that you are overlapping your understanding here. St. Paul worshiped in homes and taught in the synagogues. They did not worship in the synagogues.when he goes teaching within homes, within synagogues, right?
He was reborn when he was Baptized by AnaniasWas St Paul reborn in Christ and by the power of whom?
If Christ so wills it. However Christ gave us the Sacrament of Baptism so we can have assurance of our rebirth. And can anyone be reborn in Christ without being taught by man?
My response here would be if they want to see how we Worship then they should come to Mass. However, if they want to know what we teach is true then they need to go to a Bible study or listen to Catholic Answers or Called to Communion.Respectfully when it comes to James epistle sent to Elders Leaders of the Faith no different… but far better today…organized…we also have many who come to our church on Sunday, …Or they come just wanting to know and examine us…if what is being said about us…is true…
Worship is done at Mass. Some understanding can come from the homily but that is not the centrality of our mass. If one wants to know truth they need to attend RCIA.
Like I said I don’t go to mass in the hopes I will learn something from the Priest’s homily. If a do great, but that is not my purpose for going to mass.hoping they will return again and hear our… Teaching homilies.
God Bless
