At some of the Catholic churches the congregation is asked for their (name removed by moderator)ut on church matters. A few examples:
- Where should the Blessed Virgin statue be relocated?
- What time should the earliest Sunday Mass be for the new schedule?
The people give their suggestions in writing or by voice.
Here is the sad part:
Nothing is done according to their suggestions. Are these people not part of the Church?
This is a hilarious thread;
For example:
How many times was a vote requested (by day, month and year)
How many ballots did you actually see for each time there was voting?
“Nothing is done” - see the answers to the first two questions before answering this one.
Who was doing the balloting each time - was it the pastor? A committee? was there any reason to think that the vote was binding, or was it advisory? Out of the whole of the parish, how many ballots were returned?
If it was advisory, then why the charge that nothing was done according to their suggestions? Do you have a tally of suggestions, and a listing of how many different suggestions there were?
I was involved in such a project: our parish was going to change the carpet, and suggestions (could that be a vote???) were solicited.
I heard the same comments made which you make: no one was listened to. That, however, was not true; there were suggestions a plenty; and the committee in charge of the matter went with one color that was suggested by a number of people; some of the complainers simply had suggested a different color.
But for the simple reason their favorite color was not chosen, the “were not listened to”.
Yes, they were listened to. The suggestion(s) of a different color was what was chosen.
