What are some rebuttals that I could use against pro-abortionists? Specifically for the rape case?

When Ben Shapiro gets asked this, he asks them if it’s really about the rape case or if it’s about abortion in general. Ask him/her if she/he thinks abortion should be legal in cases outside of rape.

The rape/incest exception is not logical at all.

To say “only if raped” implies abortions in other circumstances (eg a woman who was too lazy to buy a condom) is morally wrong. If that’s the case, the person is saying that getting rid of a life is only moral if the circumstances around that life is unpleasant (eg it’s okay to kill if the life causes me hurt or anything similar). That’s not the position we hold. We believe every innocent life is precious. And that’s not the argument they usually have, they usually argue that autonomy>life.

Shapiro or essentially any respectable pro life apologist explains this way better than me, lol. You should listen to their reasoning on YouTube

Of all the people involved in the crime, the unborn is the most innocent.
Why should we sentence this person to death for the crimes of another?

A fetus doesn’t have the intellectually capacity to think/feel/fear death the way older smarter humans do. The value of a fetus’ life is thus on par with that of a chimpanzee.
You advocate the killing of chimpanzees?

And yet a chimpanzee gets to live, and an unborn child could loose the right to life, if the the caregiver doesn’t want the child. You class it as just a fetus, I class it as a stage in the development of life that should be protected

Let’s assume that you’re correct: can you prove why one’s intellectual ability is what should determine their worth?

New borne babies don’t have the capacity intellectually to think/feel/fear death the way older smarter humans do either. The same could be said for toddlers and five year old children. Is the value of their lives on par with that of chimpanzee? This line of thinking could be extended further, and reasons for killing innocent human beings could easily be multiplied. None of this makes any sense at all, and it is morally repugnant.

That doesn’t answer my question. I’m not concerned with how we treat animals or how painful something is in this case, but why you think intellectual ability should determine how much worth a being has.

Child birth is a natural and necessary part of human existence. The pain associated with it can, at times, be severe. That, however, is no justification for abortion which kills a human being. Child birth gives life, while abortion takes a life.

You’re dodging my question. Regardless, now I have to ask: why does the capacity to have hopes or dreams determine one’s worth?

Please give me an example that would justify killing a five year old child, and where is such an act legal in our society?

Whether a woman wishes to be pregnant or wishes she was not, has nothing to do with whether abortion is the killing of a human being.

We say it’s Ok to kill cows and chickens and pigs because they don’t have human intelligence. We aren’t doing much harm to them. Whereas the pain of not getting an abortion is 100000000000000% worse for the woman than the pain of a needle with some neurotoxin in it poking a fetus for a moment before the fetus dies.
Why didn’t you tell us you were a physician?

Maybe you say that’s why it’s okay, but that’s not how everyone would explain it. Maybe someone like myself would say the mere fact that they aren’t members of our species is why it’s okay? Don’t assume that we think the same way.

And you did not answer my question, actually. You haven’t explained why quality of life and the like is what determines someone’s worth. You’re basically saying, “the woman feels pain, the fetus doesn’t, so it’s okay”, and that’s not an adequate defense.

A fetus doesn’t have the intellectually capacity to think/feel/fear death the way older smarter humans do. The value of a fetus’ life is thus on par with that of a chimpanzee.
You could say the same thing about a newborn infant. At what age do you consider human life valuable?

Human beings aren’t just any species. Moreover “rights” or “value” do come by way of being members of the human race. Even if you ignored the existence of God and the natural law given by God to man, you have to credit mankind for the rights and values that we hold dear. Where else would they come from? Animals, strictly speaking, have no rights. As a society, however, we give recognition to their value and extend protections to them.

By the way, martians do not exist.
