We say it’s Ok to kill cows and chickens and pigs because they don’t have human intelligence. We aren’t doing much harm to them. Whereas the pain of not getting an abortion is 100000000000000% worse for the woman than the pain of a needle with some neurotoxin in it poking a fetus for a moment before the fetus dies.

All you have done is declare that these things make it okay to kill a fetus. You have failed to explain why. That would be like me saying that 10÷2=5 without explaining my process. Explain why it’s okay; a declaration isn’t enough.

Pardon my understanding but isn’t the fetus used for creating a human? Doesn’t that make it useful?

It sounds as though you would advocate the killing of newborns if you consider them a burden.

But, can you put a number on that magical age when you believe a child is finally smart enough to be considered a valuable member of society? At what age, for example, did you fit that description?

The victim has Down’s Syndrome and cannot appreciate the value of the money that was stolen, and doesn’t have the capacity for hopes and dreams, so it’s all good.

Never meant to be there? Are you telling me that life is allowed only if it is meant to be there? Causing horrible suffering? If someone is raped it would be the wounds of rape not the child that would cause pain

So, what age is intelligence seen? Have you displayed your intelligence yet? And how do you measure the intelligence? Do you have an IQ level in mind? 90, 100, 120?

No, the equation is a statement. The process is where I show my work so that I can get more than half credit for the problem. To prove that my equation is correct, I need to explain it.

10÷2=5 because 2 goes into 10, 5 times. There’s my process. It may be better explained by a more lengthy problem, but there it is.

What you’re doing is making the declaration that 10÷2=5, and failing to elaborate as I elaborated. Or, more specificly in your case, you’re claiming that intellectual ability and usefulness are how someone’s worth is determined… and that’s it.

Here, I’ll do it myself to show you:

The heartbeat of a fetus is steady 7 weeks after conception, and its skin is sensitive enough to react to tactile stimulation, so it’s wrong to kill it.

All I did here was present two facts and claim that they support my position, as you are doing. I have failed (as you have) to prove why these two items should determine whether it’s wrong to kill the fetus. If you’re wise, you’ll explain exactly why intellectual ability and usefulness should determine someone’s worth.

That’s pretty useless stuff in my book. None of that factors into intelligence? If I were the judge, you might be axed until you showed some quality more valuable.

What about an IQ level? Where would you cut it off? 90, 100, 120?

You haven’t answered the age question. At what age do you think a human life is valuable? Produce a number. At what age was your human life valuable? At what age will your human life lose value? Or your mom’s?
 
No, that’s not what I claimed. You’re putting words in my mouth. I think the only real “claim” I’ve made, is that you need to show your process. My “claims” that there is a regular heartbeat at seven weeks, and that the skin responds to tactile stimulation at the same time- I’m not actually claiming that. It was an example to show that you need to explain how you come to your conclusions. Now, if you would heed my advice and do so, I would appreciate that.
 
What I have learned from this thread:
It is okay to kill people who have no hopes and dreams. Goodbye coma folks!
It is okay to kill those who are not smart enough to have those hopes and dreams.
Those hopes and dreams must be useful. Goodbye…lots of people.
It is okay to kill toddlers over full-grown adults in some instances. Because they aren’t as useful.
Bottom line: life is determined by usefulness!!!

By the way, I wonder who determines who’s useful or not?

When do we start killing those folks who are just sitting around watching TV and getting a government check?
