It is better to lie to them and enable their behavior. ☹️ Ignore Jesus’ instructions of fraternal correction. True Christian charity demands fraternal correction.
Now I see how it works. Anyone who does not hold to your religious beliefs regarding gender and who does not disregard science is a liar.

Have you ever considered how those disregarding the research and acting solely on religious beliefs have been and continues to be a cause in wholly avoidable discrimination, harassment, assault and a high rates of suicide.

May I ask what research you are speaking of?

Joe,

Good question. Here is a good place to start:
Transgender Inequality in US Society
Several recent studies - from the National Center of Transgender Inequality (NCTE) and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) - have shown that transgender individuals in the United States particularly face discrimination within their own family units and schools, in employment and housing, within government settings, through hate crimes, and under the justice and legal systems. From a young age, children are often brought up in heteronormative settings within their own homes and in school. Parents oftentimes respond quite negatively when their children cross gender barriers, prompting transgender youth to run away. As a result, homeless transgender youth are more likely to turn to drug dealing, car theft, and sexual exploitation.[6] According to the Human Rights Campaign, less than 43% of gender-expansive youth said they could turn to an adult in their family if they were worried or sad.[7] In education, transgender individuals also describe discrimination from peers. Transgender youth are three times more likely to be excluded by peers because they are “different.”[7] A survey of National Center of Transgender Equality claims, “Those who expressed a transgender identity or gender non-conformity while in grades K-12 reported alarming rates of harassment (78%), physical assault (35%) and sexual violence (12%); harassment was so severe that it led almost one-sixth (15%) to leave a school in K-12 settings or in higher education.”[8]
And here is a 228 page survey on transgendered discrimination.

Injustice At Every Turn: A Report Of The National Transgender Discrimination Survey
Hundreds of dramatic findings on the impact of anti-transgender bias are presented in this report. In many cases, a series of bias-related events lead to insurmountable challenges and devastating outcomes for study participants.
Discrimination was pervasive throughout the entire sample, yet the combination of anti-transgender bias and persistent, structural racism was especially devastating.
I focused on discrimination but if you have questions about other areas of transgendered research, other than what I posted above, let me know.

This is bunk. One does not enable one out of touch with reality.

We are allowed to discriminate against immoral acts and behaviors. Our whole society is built on this. We all do it daily.

To be fair, frobert, all the statistics you cite are consistent with transgenderism being a mental illness in most people who are transgender. Surely people with bipolar disorder, for instance, would be more likely to get kicked out of their homes, more likely to commit suicide, more likely to be assaulted, and so on.

Please do not take this as a comment to the effect that anyone is justified in treating a transgender kid badly. I hate when kids are treated cruelly as much as anyone!

Science supports the Catholic view.
That looks like an answer looking for a question.

The research I presented and linked to deals with discrimination and inequality which the conservative christian logic fails to take into account. Outside of lip service what is conservative christianity doing to eliminate the problems in the studies and surveys I linked to?

Love the sinner hate the sin.

We are interested in their eternal life.

The cruelty comes when parents or schools encourage children to live outside of reality. It comes crashing down sooner or later. That is child abuse.

Until 3 politically correct years ago transgender was classified as a mental illness. Interestingly enough the APA has been taken over by activists. The same thing happened with homoscexuality.

I addressed this in a previous post:
It is true that transgendered youth have many problem and here’s why:

Psychiatric Concerns in Transgender Youth
I believe you are familiar with Evelyn Hooker who was the first to show there were healthy homosexuals.

Thanks for saying this. The main point I was trying to make was that transgender kids are being treated badly. I think your posts on this thread were the only ones showed some empathy.

How does one show empathy to a confused person? Confuse them more? or show them the truth.?

The transgender movement should be differentiated from the gender fluidity movement. Traditionally, transgendered people recognize that gender is binary but innately feel wrong. This isn’t just about wanting to fit into different gender roles, but a deeper feeling of wrongness and uncomfortableness in one’s own skin.

The gender fluidity movement thinks that gender is the same thing as gender roles. If you’re sexually a male but aren’t aggressive, like flowers and fashion, cooking, etc . . . then you you’re not a male gender. If you wake up feeling more assertive one day and more submissive another day, then it means your gender is fluid and changing day to day. To sum up, rather than emphasize that gender roles are not absolute and that it’s okay to be a man who likes things the current culture sees as traditionally feminine (which is something I believe to be true), they prefer to just reject the idea that this person is a gendered male altogether. Or vice versa. They’re female, or something inbetween, or something not inbetween but something new. They just don’t identify in any traditional gender role, therefore they’re not the gender that traditional gender role is usually abscribed to, which is all a bunch of nonsense in my opinion. Gender =/= gender role. You could say the good thing is that they’re trying to stop people from being made fun of for not conforming to traditional gender roles, but the logical basis and social consequences of their approach are just silly.

Hopefully it’s clear how the transgender movement and the gender fluidity movement are different, though of course there are people who believe in both (or reject both).

And let me be clear that I don’t think nature is always clear cut. To start, people are certainly people born intersex in reality, who truly don’t fall neatly into the two binary genders. These people are still very much human beings and deserve compassion and shouldn’t be forced into one sex or another. There are these exceptions. That said, if a human being is born blind, you still understand that human beings in general are intended to have two seeing eyes.

Certainly you understand that just because you believe something does not make that something true. Others who believe differently than you also believe that hold a true belief.

There has been enough time and science to show that the APA made the right decision about homosexuality. Before you criticize the DSM process you should at least be familiar with what you are critiquing.

You have a lot of opinions which the only support you supply are beliefs and more opinions.

The ex president of the APA admitted that no real research was done on homosexuality when it was removed from the DSM. He also went on record that activists had it changed.

Is dualism true in your view?

Right - all opinion cannot be all true.

What is the true purpose of the reproductive organs?

Your first mistake is to assume the person is indeed confused.

Truthfully, I had a difficult time myself trying to understand what a transgendered person was feeling because I could not imagine what it would be like to wake up everyday knowing* I was in the wrong body and no one I know could understand me. I think it was in a dream where I dreamed of being in a coma with many people around me, I was screaming and no one could hear me. On waking I knew that that was the closest I could come.

The empathy comes through understanding what they are feeling, but helping them connect back to reality.
