except if they admit to preferring modesty over see through pants. You won’t meet me there .
They can just wear regular clothes next time. If they have trouble finding suitable clothes it doesn’t sound like anything is going to actually happen no matter how many times they go to Mass. The Diocese later required the signs to be removed.
We are to meet people where they are
The way I heard the story, the younger monk, in admonishing the older one, started describing in great detail the various physical charms and allurements of the young woman (I won’t be any more specific than that), and that’s when the older monk replied “yes, but I put the woman down when we crossed the creek, and you are still carrying her with you”.Let me tell you a little story. Two monks were traveling in the countryside. Suddenly they arrived near a creek. A young pretty woman was trying to cross the creek but was concerned because the creek was muddy. The oldest monk offered to help her and carried her across the creek. The two monks went back to their way. They were walking in silence when suddenly the youngest monk started complaining ‘Father, sorry to tell you that but I was really surprised. What you did was not proper! Not proper at all’. The older monk replied ‘I left the young woman down after we crossed the creek, you are still carrying her with you!’.
Best reminder I’ve gotten all day. Thank you!Time to use my time more productively.
I for one do not see it as trivial. The whole matter in a nutshell goes something like this:I kept it simple but I think the message is clear. Dozens of posts and we are still discussing about the odd pants of somebody randomly met in a church. Maybe we have more issues than the lady with the odd pants if such a trivial thing is keeping so much space in our minds and hearts…
