Received my Baptism Certificate, now what?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been trying to get into the Catholic Church, and after some months trying to gather the necessary papers, I finally got them.

…now I need to know what to do from here. I was gonna go to my local parish and see what to do, but I wanted to get a heads-up from people who’ve already gone through that. A sort of “scoping it out before making a move” thing, if you catch my drift.

Speak to the Priest at a nearby parish and inquire as to when RCIA classes will begin. God bless.

Yes, call the church office & make an appointment with the priest.
RCIA usually starts in the fall so it is great timing, but it is also good to visit directly with the priest, discuss your journey etc.

I was a Methodist, but now happily a Catholic. Talk to a priest and get into an RCIA program.

the first stop is always your closest Catholic parish, they might even have been able to expedite finding your baptismal certificate. don’t know what other papers you would need, except those related to marriage and/or divorce. Everybody’s story will be different because everyone begins their journey from a different place.

You may want to consider seeing a traditional priest (FSSP or SSPX) for personal instruction, rather than go through RCIA, which may or may not be orthodox.
