Received unsolicited text from unknown person requesting to buy house

I was wondering and concerned about that possibility. I use my cell as my primary phone number, but I don’t remember putting it in public listings anywhere, except perhaps I gave it to our mortgage lender.
That’s another reason I was startled by the unsolicited text by a person who didn’t identify himself who addressed me by name asking if I was interested in selling my house

In this day and age, it is a real possibility. Since COVID started I have seen an increase in spam and unsolicited calls and texts.

I did not respond to the text and blocked the sender’s phone number. Not sure how much that will help, but it’s a start.

I have gotten postcards in the mail asking if I wanted to sell my house. Mostly they are from out of town realtors that look to our area for cheaper houses. I think they think they will be able to sell them for more… The last one I got had a google earth photo of my house from at least ten years ago. They said the would pay cash and I wouldn’t have to make any repairs. Part of me wants to call them up and tell them they are making themselves look bad by insinuating that the house is rundown and in need of work. If they really wanted my business they would have done better hunting on the history of the house and found it is not rundown.
