Receiving 2 Hosts

So a few years ago, I received two hosts by accident and I didn’t realize until I walked away from the Eucharistic minister. I had to idea what to do with the extra host (obviously I knew not to throw it out) but I didn’t know that consuming two was fine at the time. I still have it actually in my room because I didn’t know what to do, should I consume it? Now I’m freaking out that I committed a mortal sin but I literally had no idea what to do at the time. Probably should have googled it.
 
First thing, don’t “walk away” with the host. If you choose to receive in the hand, that is fine but you need to place the host in your mouth before you begin walking away.

Consuming both hosts is fine.
 
You could also dissolve it in a glass of water, then pour the water on the ground outside if you don’t want to consume 2 year old bread.
