Just more “putting on a show.”:shrug:I have noticed a small (but increasing) trend in our Church. Married couples approach communion in unison. They stand side-by-side and receive together. I am not sure what to make of this? Have you seen this? I appreciate anything that shows unity in the marriage. Coming together to receive Christ is a good thing. But on the other hand, receiving God is such an awesome thing that it should be individual. I have problems focusing and approching with total reverance. If I had to synchornize with my spouse, then forget it…I would not be able to totally focused on receiving with total reverance and understanding. Any thoughts?
Maybe the couples could carry a two-handled “unity candle” in procession up for communion?
