Actually, it’s not true. Lay people can only distribute the Eucharist in emergency situations…

So was this a legitimate question at first, or are you just here to further your agenda. Why don’t you just let people do for themselves that which they are allowed in their diocese, not what you think is best for your. I would say that is the only problem here.
Actually if you are not ordained then you are not a Eucharistic Minister. Only the ordained can be that. Lay persons can be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) which is not a Eucharistic Minister.
